Darren Moore releases his debut solo album — 16 tracks of drums and percussion work that is by turns wild and meditative. Also known for being the curator of a series of semi-regular improvised and experimental music gigs in Singapore known as Choppa, Moore engages his instruments/objects in a variety of ways from striking to bowing; the album title, which conjures the audacious imagery of layering pigment tones into the devil’s own dermis — is apt.
